Later on in August 1972, MJ came out with his second solo album, "Ben". The title track "Ben", is one of MJ's most well known songs. It was his first #1 hit and stayed at the top of the US pop charts for a weeks, #1 on the Australian charts for 8 weeks, and #7 on British charts. Everybody knows about his pet rat (yes, rat) Ben, who he loved so much. I love this song because he sings it with such heart for his age, but it makes me sad because it shows me how lonely he was. Anyways, despite the fact that it's a song about vermin, it's oh so sweet, and here it is.
I recently found out I'm a grown-up. Oh well, crazier things have happened.

MJ Tribute #1
This is one of my favorite songs. Many people don't know that MJ had a solo album way before his Jheri Curl "Rock With You" days. In 1972 he came out with his first solo album, "Be There" before his break from the Jackson 5. This is one of the singles off the album. It was #16 on the pop charts and #2 on the R&B charts in 1972. I wanted to give you the live performance, bu it was too blurry, so here's a slideshow instead. Here is "I Wanna Be Where You Are":
Do You, Boo!!
I'm gonna be honest with you all, I'm no fashionista. I don't claim to be. I don't keep up with the latest fashions in Paris...etc, etc. I am, however, in love with fashion. I am a very creative person and to me, fashion is a way to make your body a canvas. That is why I am highly opposed to following fads and trends. I don't think it's the best way to reflect who you are. Now, I'm not saying you can't pull elements you appreciate from current trends, I just think that fashion is about whats right for you. I've been told often that a certain outfit I wore was nice on me, but would never work on somebody else. Now, sometimes, that's a polite way to say "you look a hot mess", but when you do creative the right way, it can be a very true compliment. When you #1:wear what you like, #2: are willing to take chances, and #3: make choices that compliment your body and image, you may create a personal style that really may not work on anybody but you. Now let me explain:
#1: Wear what you like
-so often, people are slaves to pop culture and trends of today, and try to reflect what they see. The problem with that is, sometimes, these trends don't work for everyone. It's important to know what you like. That can include styles from any time period (that are flattering, for example, you may want to avoid Hammer pants). Try to remember things you've seen on people, or in magazines that you loved. Even try to recall things you've worn before that you really liked or were praised for. But what if you don't think the shirt in the movie will look good on you? That brings me to the next point...
#2: Be willing to take chances
-you never know what will work if you don't try it, so take the chance! I am someone who is willing to try something odd, if I can make it work. I have plenty of "ugly" items I love. It depends on what you do with it, and how you carry yourself when you wear it. Sometimes, I will go to the mall on an off-day and try on anything I think looks cool. Then, I take a picture in it with my phone. What I see in the mirror is how I think I look in it, and what I see in the picture is what others will see. Later on, when I'm home, I review them. The next time I have the money to shop, I know what to get. The beauty of window shopping and trying unfamiliar things on, is it helps you get over the fear of putting it on. If it happens to look good, get it! p.s- don't be scared of pattern, color, and different fit. You'd be surprised how comfortable you could be in something new.
#3: Make choices that compliment your body and image
-To me, this is the most important factor. Sometimes, the cutest outfits can be completely ruined by bad fit. Don't dress for a body you don't have, and respect your proportions. A basic rule is big baggy clothes don't flatter any shape, male or female, and tight clothes don't help anyone either. Also, make sure your clothes reflect who you are. If you're a vibrant happy energetic person, don't live in neutrals like black and browns, add some bright vibrant colors. If you're a mature businessman/woman, you may not want to live in dusty sneakers and juniors department clothes. If you're a sweet, classy, well-mannered young lady, you may want to skip the mini skirts and thigh boots. Ya get the idea?
Fashion is about being honest with yourself, true to yourself, and having fun. I will be going into depth on these points one by one later on, so stay tuned!

Amazing, really!!
Ok, so I like to think I know everything. Not because I actually know all, but because I am on a constant quest to acquire more knowledge. That sounds deep, right? Well, it basically means I watch a lot of National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and PBS, but hey, it works. Anyways, I happen to be an animal fanatic, and I loveeee snakes. Here is a video clip of, the largest, unfortunately dead, snake ever captured on film. (You don't want to get too close to a live 30+ foot long anaconda). Enjoy!
LOL.....
LOL.....
Mike is Goneeee!! My heart is broken...
I never in my life thought I'd see the day Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, and love of my life would pass. I'm literally in shock. I happened to hear about it while turning on my radio. The dj said they received confirmation that he was dead. I was sooo mad! I thought they were making some really mean joke. I was literally disgusted (I'll explain my love of Michael later). Then, they kept talking, and they were really sad, and I realized they were telling the truth. I couldn't understand it. I called my cousin in Atlanta to share my denial (she shares my love for MJ). Then I called my mom (yes, it was that serious). She told one of her coworkers who Googled him for me, and we found out he had been rushed to the hospital after going into cardiac arrest. Yes, I cried. I can't believe it, and it still hasn't really hit me. Me and my friends had previously discussed a list of people who, if they died, the world would be affected, not just America. #1 on the list was, International pop sensation, Michael Jackson, and now, the whole world is mourning the loss of one of the most talented, innovative, and phenomenal artists of all time.
Now, I realize some people will read this and laugh or shake their head. Yes, I realize stars are just people, no, I never met him, blah, blah, blah. For me, this is serious. I'm not the excited type. I don't obsess, follow, or praise anything or anyone. Im just not the fan type. However, I am one of MJ's biggest fans. My mom loved everything Michael, and since I was a baby, I loved him. She probably blasted his songs while I was in the womb, lol. I know the dances in all his videos, I know all his songs, and I just knew I was gonna meet him one day. He was my first "boyfriend". I'm an 80's baby, so I remember the cute Michael. I even used to scare my little brother with the scary eye part of "Thriller". I listen to at least one of his songs everyday. You know you have a problem when people call and text you for hours honestly saying sorry for your loss. Like I said, yes, it's that serious.
As a special tribute to the G.O.A.T., I will be posting my favorite songs everyday for a week.
*Michael Jackson 1958-2009, Gone, but never forgotten. The world scorned you, but now they will mourn you. *

Happy (Belated) Father's Day!!
As you all kno, yesterday was Father's Day. First of all, I would like to say, Happy Father's Day to my dad. He may not be the perfect father, but he has always been a good one, and he's tries his best. The older I get, the more I realize that we're all human, and sometimes, we just can't get it right. The least we can do is try, and that is what sets us apart. I say this because I notice a growing trend of extremely young parents. Yes, I realize teens have been having kids for centuries, but lately, I feel like there's a baby boom. Errbody's popping 'em out....sorry. Almost half of the people I went to high school with are parents, soon to be parents, or even married! This is surprising because I'm only 23. However, the reason I bring this up in this particular post is because, I am soooo proud of father's this year.
I kno I promised to talk about my new job long ago. Well, I'm a teacher's assistant in a preschool. I looovvveeeee this job. The kids are crazy and disgusting, but they're all 4-5 years old, so its kinda cute, lol. Over time, I noticed that mostly fathers have been picking up their children from school. All day long, when the kids get mad at the teacher's or someone takes their toy, they scream "I WAN MY DADDY!!! I MISS MY DADDY!!". In a world where mother's reign supreme, this is not only surprising, but heart-warming. It shows me that father's of all ages and races are stepping up, being men, and not settling for "sperm-donor" role, but are being present in their children's lives, and being Daddies. I am truly proud.
...almost made me shed a single tear.

Thanks for bursting my bubble...
I think little things like recurrent segments, add character to a simple blog. Gives you something to look forward to, ya know? Well this particular segment is called "Thanks for bursting my bubble" in which I thank someone or something for further ruining my innocence with inappropriate things such as innuendo, inferences, photos, interpretations, etc. This happens to me often, and now I have the world to share my shock and dismay with.
Lucky for you, this topic debut is a double feature, the first being Britney Spears' song "If You Seek Amy". Now, I happen to be an avid Britney fan (My music tastes will be discussed in a future post). Due to this, I was an instant fan of this energetic yet "poppy" tune. I blast it in my car, scream it to drivers while waiting at red lights, and sing it to my dog. I have even offered my interpretation of it's meaning to naysayers, regardless of the fact that I had no idea what it was about, or who the heck Amy was. So, one day, while completing the survey in an earlier post, I was asked if I knew what this particular song meant. Since I had my theory, I thought I had an idea. Well I was wrong. First of all, here are the lyrics:
La la la, la la la
La la la, la la la
Oh baby baby have you seen Amy tonight?
Is she in the bathroom is she smokin' up outside? Oh
Oh baby baby does she take a piece of lime
For the drink that I'mma buy her do you know just what she likes? Oh
Oh oh, tell me have you seen her? Because I'm so oh
I can't get her off of my brain
I just want to go to the party she gonna go
Can somebody take me home?
Ha ha, he he, ha ha ho
Love me hate me, say what you want about me
But all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy
Love me hate me, but can't you see what I see?
All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy
Love me hate me, la la la, la la la
Amy told me that she's gonna meet me up
I don't know where or when and now they're closing up the club, oh
I've seen her once or twice but boy she knows my face
But it's hard to see with all the people standing in the way, oh
Oh oh, tell me have you seen her, because I'm so oh
I can't get her off of my brain
I just want to go to the party she gonna go
Can somebody take me home?
Ha ha, he he, ha ha ho
Love me hate me, say what you want about me
But all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy
Love me hate me, but can't you see what I see?
All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy
Love me hate me
Oh, so what you want about me?
Oh, but can't you see what I see?
Oh, so what you want about me?
La la la, la la la
So tell me if you see her
'Cause I've been waiting here forever
Oh baby baby if you seek Amy tonight
Oh baby baby we'll do whatever you like
Oh baby baby baby
Oh baby baby baby
La la la, la la la
La la la, la la la
Love me hate me, say what you want about me
But all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy
Love me hate me, but can't you see what I see
All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy
Love me hate me, say what you want about me, yeah
Love me hate me, but can't you see what I see?
All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy
Love me hate me
Oh, so what you want about me?
Oh, but can't you see what I see?
Love me hate me
Oh, so what you want about me?
All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy
Now, my innocent mind took into consideration the chaotic lifestyle of Miss Spears and thought that she was addressing the public. I felt she was supposed to be this Amy character and that, basically, love or hate her, people always want to kno and be where she is. What I discovered was,"Amy" was simply a byproduct of the title "If you seek Amy", when broken down as such "If-You-See-K Amy which actually symbolize letters: If=F, See-=C, -k Amy= K me. If you notice, I left out a word/letter. Why? Because you guys are so sharp. Apparantely, this witty number was talking about how everybody wants to perform lewd acts of a sexual nature with Miss Spears..boys and girls alike. Oh.
My next also happens to be a song, and it is Lady Gaga's "Pokerface". Now, I realize she is already a rather racy individual. I also happen to be an avid fan of hers as well. However, I thought, and I must say with very good reason, that this song was about how she was all lovey dovey sprungadocious over some dude, but she didn't want him to kno how deep she was in, so she had to keep her pokerface on. Well, to my suprise, I was wrong...oh so wrong. Before I enlighten some, here are the lyrics:
I wanna hold em' like they do in Texas Plays
Fold em' let em' hit me raise it baby stay with me (I love it)
Luck and intuition play the cards with Spades to start
And after he's been hooked I'll play the one that's on his heart
Oh, oh, oh, oh, ohhhh, ohh-oh-e-ohh-oh-oh
I'll get him hot, show him what I've got
Oh, oh, oh, oh, ohhhh, ohh-oh-e-ohh-oh-oh,
I'll get him hot, show him what I've got
Can't read my,
Can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
(she's got me like nobody)
Can't read my
Can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
(she's got me like nobody)
P-p-p-poker face, p-p-poker face
(Mum mum mum mah)
P-p-p-poker face, p-p-poker face
(Mum mum mum mah)
I wanna roll with him a hard pair we will be
A little gambling is fun when you're with me I love it)
Russian Roulette is not the same without a gun
And baby when it's love if its not rough it isn't fun, fun
Oh, oh, oh, oh, ohhhh, ohh-oh-e-ohh-oh-oh
I'll get him hot, show him what I've got
Oh, oh, oh, oh, ohhhh, ohh-oh-e-ohh-oh-oh,
I'll get him hot, show him what I've got
Can't read my,
Can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
(she's got me like nobody)
Can't read my
Can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
(she's got me like nobody)
P-p-p-poker face, p-p-poker face
(Mum mum mum mah)
P-p-p-poker face, p-p-poker face
(Mum mum mum mah)
I won't tell you that I love you
Kiss or hug you
Cause I'm bluffin' with my muffin
I'm not lying I'm just stunnin' with my love-glue-gunning
Just like a chick in the casino
Take your bank before I pay you out
I promise this, promise this
Check this hand cause I'm marvelous
Can't read my,
Can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
(she's got me like nobody)
Can't read my
Can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
(she's got me like nobody)
Can't read my,
Can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
(she's got me like nobody)
Can't read my
Can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
(she's got me like nobody)
Can't read my,
Can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
(she's got me like nobody)
Can't read my
Can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
(she's got me like nobody)
P-p-p-poker face, p-p-poker face
(Mum mum mum mah)
P-p-p-poker face, p-p-poker face
(Mum mum mum mah)
See? I like to think I'm an intelligent person. It's not like I just guessed. I listened, I pondered, and I came to a conclusion. Now I find out that she has personally revealed what it means. "When GaGa took to the stage at the White Party in Palm Springs, she explained to the roaring crowd that 'Poker Face' is a reference to the expression she pulls when she's having sex with a man, but wishes she was having sex with a woman." ( There's more where that came from, check below.) Guess I should have known something from "bluffin with my muffin". Now ain't that about a....smh.
That is all.

I'm officially a fitness freak!!...well sorta
Ok, so I realize I haven't posted in a while, but I believe I've found the secret to dedicated exercise when it comes to me. I can't think about it, I just have to go and do it. Everyday, for almost a week, I went to the gym religiously. I say "went" because I haven't gone in two days, but that is simply due to inconvenience of schedule and I was actually upset when I found out I couldn't go! I mean, I think about exercise all day, everyday, I can't wait to get to the gym, I wish I could stay longer when I'm there. Even when I don't go to the gym, I work out at home, and I stretch every morning. It's like a miracle, lol. Needless to say, by the end of June, aka the real summer, I will be one hot mama...at least thats the plan. And even if I don't look how I expect, I will be so strong feeling and fit, I won't even care. I'm so proud of myself. Kudos to me :)

Ok...Fine
Alright...So, first of all, I should have posted a long time ago, because after such a very long wait....I HAVE A JOB!!! NO LONGER AM I AN UNEMPLOYED WASTE OF SPACE!!! However, due to something that weighs more heavily on my mind, the review of my current job will have to wait until another post.
This post, is in response to my last real one in which I gave a rather graphic description of my currently saggy butt. I made some proposals like going to he gm, running, taking vitamins...blah blah blah. Yea...I did none of things, as predicted by myself. But I recently saw a video blog of Ciara, and since we are both of slim, athletic build, I have somebody to physically relate to. I will probably never be juicy, lol, but I can look pretty freakin' badd (the good bad, like bad mother--shut your mouth!...I'm only talkin' 'bout Candace...we can dig it!) if I atually tried. Ciara used to be ok. She was tall, long, slim, and had an ok face, but she was kinda regular. Now she's a friggin' Amazon. She grew a butt, her legs are fierce, and she has diamond cut abs. I realize the gym is part of her career, but I'm sure with some determination, I can attain something similar.
Besides, I saw myself in a bathing suit last year, and it was pathetic, to say the least. I'mtrying to rock a bikini this summer, and turn heads...not stomachs. Needless to say, I got some work to do. So this time, no promise. I'm just gonna try to do it. The other post showed what I plan to do...jus remember, Im a lazy procrastinator full of excuses. I offer no guarantees. Today should set off my fitness program...here goes nothing!!
Random
Ok, so...I love surveys. Mostly because I'm very secretive, but if you really ask me, and I like you, I'll tell you what you want to know. I'm just not the overly social "guess what happened today" type. So, surveys let me tell people things about me that I would never think to just come out and say...just because. So, here's one:
